Edgar Reed

Location: Section 93

Purchased in 1927 by screw-maker Edgar Reed and enlarged in 1930 to include the entire oval, this is perhaps the most impressive family lot in Hope. Once flat, the area was designed by Tiffany & Co., New York, and included a bronze plaque of Tennyson's “Crossing the Bar" on one of the central rocks. Reed arrived in Worcester from Kingston, Massachusetts, in 1886 and co-founded the Reed & Prince Manufacturing Co., makers of screws, bolts and rivets.
